August. The air is thick and still. Chicco and Spillo, fraternal twins now eighteen, are forced to leave the institutional care home where they grew up. With an uncertain future and driven by the pride of their youth, they flee toward the sea, determined to defy a pre-written destiny and feel like boys for just one more day. But the journey turns into a fragile rite of passage between play and reality, dream and illusion. While Chicco clings to life with angry resolve, Spillo rejects his illness, slipping into an increasingly blurred world. As the heat intensifies, his body gives out. A severe hypoglycemic crisis drags Spillo into a vortex of delirium, where even Chicco's presence begins to feel like a mere illusion.
