Our Mission

Our mission is to affirm the short film as a film in every respect and to restore its cultural and collective dimension in cinemas. We go beyond the idea of festival distribution and develop a dedicated strategy for each work: we do not limit ourselves to festival selections, but build tailored paths that include theatrical premieres, Q&A events, director interviews, and an editorial plan that supports the release.

At the same time, we handle positioning in national and international festivals, track deadlines, cultivate relationships with programmers, and coordinate sales to platforms. Our approach combines strategic analysis and a strong network of contacts. Humanity and transparency are our core values: we work side by side with authors and production companies, we listen and build trust, because every project is first and foremost a shared relationship.

We develop dedicated communication strategies for festivals, aimed at enhancing the work in the best possible way; we increase the chances that the short film is actually viewed by programmers, among the thousands they receive each year, through our positioning and a professional network consolidated over time; we constantly scout national and international festivals, monitoring deadlines in advance; we coordinate platform sales

Backstory

PunxFilm started its journey with the production of music videos: we have collaborated with some of the most important Italian artists, working with major record labels such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, Sugar Music, and Woodworm. This training ground allowed us to refine our visual language and experiment with the medium as much as possible.

After abandoning the music world, the step toward cinema, and short films in particular, came very naturally. After producing some well-made short movies, in order to give them the right visibility, we created a dedicated distribution structure: a way to personally follow each project, from production to theatrical release and festivals.

The experience we gained then led us to open distribution to works by other production companies, bringing short films around the world that have stood out at Nastri d’Argento, Alice nella Città, Cortinametraggio, Visioni Italiane, Marateale, Saturnia, and many other festivals.

Today we are primarily looking for new stories to support: we believe in short cinema and in the value of emerging voices, and we put our experience and our network at the service of those who want to take their film beyond the boundaries of a niche.

LETTER OF INTENT (LOI)

If you are developing a short film and need solid distribution in order to apply for grants or obtain funding, PunxFilm can issue a letter of intent stating our interest and commitment to evaluate the work for distribution. It is a useful tool to strengthen your application and demonstrate that there is already a partner interested in helping your film grow.

Send us your project

By using our email address, distribution@punxfilm.com, you can send us the short film dossier (screenplay, synopsis, treatment, director’s notes) and tell us what stage the project is at. The more details you provide, the better we can understand the potential of your story.

Evaluation and Meeting

Our team reviews the material and, if it aligns with our editorial line, we will contact you for a meeting (online or in person) to further explore the creative and production aspects. It is an opportunity to discuss distribution needs and the project’s goals.

Letter of Intent Issuing

If the evaluation is positive, we prepare a letter of intent stating our willingness to consider the work for distribution once completed. You will be able to attach it to grant applications, funding dossiers, or co-production requests. The letter is not a binding contract but a preliminary commitment that strengthens the project’s credibility.
