A daughter comes back to her mother's house with a suitcase and asks to stay for a while. Beppo, the old family dog, is still there. From the first days something slips. She asks her mother to blow on her food to cool it, lets herself be fed, curls up on the floor. When Beppo dies and they bury him in the garden, the empty place is taken. She sleeps in the dog's basket. Her mother resists at first, then stops resisting.
